  1. Some of my most memorable moments from this class would be the herp survey the feild trip and all of the fun little projects that we did in class like the tatoo design and the prom thing I wish all of my classes were as fun as this one :) I loved mr dillmans jokes and singing I really enjoyed this class because I can seriously say that it has challenged me and changed my view alot on the environment I have learned alot from this class I can really say I've never learned this much in any class ever so I just want to say thank you mr dillman for making this class and being an amazing teacher:)

  2. Dear Mr. Dillman,

The most memorable moment from this class will have to the prom design. It was a very unique idea. You have been a great teacher this year for me.

    Love your student,
    Ricki A Ruffin :]

  3. Well I can't pick a memorable moment because I spent most of the class (what part of it I did nit skip) sleeping so.... jk I cant pick a memorable moment because there are so many,( I have skipped the least amount of days in this class than any other class my entir high school career so you should feel honored) the snake crawling across my foot, the STD videos, the feild trip to the aquarium, turning in my book. I can say that this class was the most memorable class my senior year. I have a different veiw of the environment, I went from never caring and cleaning my room annualy, to picking up bottles out of the walmart parking lot. I have also learned to be expressive and enthusiastic about biology by trying to help other students. After I become famous and rule the world I will come back and visit so that I can create an education system that requires no lecturing.

  4. The most morable moment for me was on our field trip to pine knoll shores, trudging thru the salt marshes and catching wildlife. I caught a few fish, tiny crabs and shrimp. Tremayne caught a 2 big crabs. I expected to a little messy but not that dirty. The experience was fun, I had never done anything remotely close to that. THe pine knolls shore field trip could possibly be the best class field trip I've attended

  5. For me, my most memorable moments in AP Environmental would have to be the collecting trash and going to Pine Knoll Shores. Not only did I have a lot a fun I learned a lot. What really stuck with me throughout this entire class was that we all play a large role in the environment than we realize (my favorite thing: tragedy of the commons). I cant stress enough how much your class has changed my mentality about the environment. I literally feel compelled to pick up trash when I see it and I have found it extremely easy to recycle now (as before I would just throw things away). Thank you so much for all that you have taught us Mr. Dillman; it truly has been a great pleasure to get a chance to take your class.

There were so many memorable moments in your class its hard to choose just one! The aquarium was the best by far though. I enjoyed our herp survey, my first time ever touching a snake! i also enjoyed our car design project, and energy project. although coal was the worst by far, haha. this class was my favorite because it actually pertained to real life, and we experience it everyday.

  7. My favorite moments in this class would have to be between three different things. First, the herp study because it allowed us to get outside every once in a while and do some hands on learning. Next would be the trip to the aquarium. It was neat to see behind the scenes, as well as catch and study animals out in the marshes. Finally, the prom dress design project because it allowed us to be creative as well as eco-friendly.

  8. Being in this class has given me some awesome memories that I'll keep forever. It's hard to pick and choose favorites, but I'd have to say that the herp survey, the field trip to the aquarium, and just about every other day in class were the times I'll miss the most. As an APES student, I've learned the importance of taking care of what's been given to us.

And I think that the facebook rule should be extended to ALL alumnae of this class... even the ones who are just approaching their Junior Year (:

I liked class in particular when there was a guest speaker. They change the atmosphere and the perspective of the class from the norm. I also enjoyed any moment we had the chance to put our hands on something and get a little dirty, like the herp survey, the aquarium, and the recycled dress.

For me i definitely enjoyed the herpetology study, as well as the field trip to Pine Knoll,I also liked watching dirty jobs, the guest speakers were really cool too. I don't wanna leave out the wind turbine lab that was really fun. Lets not forget about the Thought of the Day, its pretty much the icing on the cake.
Thank you Mr. Dillman for everything you have done for our class, you are an amazing teacher and a great friend. Keep up the great work and you will be teacher of the year in no time. Thanks again for the great adventure.

The most memorable experience that I have taken from AP Earth & Environmental Science has been constructing the prom dress made out of all recyclable materials. I enjoyed collaborating with my group by designing and executing a dress that had a common theme; the telephone. Having a tangible final product made it even more memorable. Another thing that I know I will take from this class is my growing passion for preservation and conservation. This class has made me aware of all the things that I used to be careless about and how the choices that I make now affect the sustainability of our environment tomorrow. I also really liked the coyote management project that we did; creating a wildlife management plan allowed me to think like an environmentalist and the project revealed the problems that come along with the clash between wildlife and urban life.

  12. The most memorable times that I've had while in AP earth/environmental science were, for starters, when we started the Herp survey. It was fun going outside every week and looking to see if the habitats we had created contained snakes, and the different discoveries that we made. Another memorable moment that I have is when we made the dress. Everybody seemed like they had a lot of fun trying to make a dress out of reusable materials. Even though i think the contest was rigged (b/c clearly my group should've won)I had fun with the overall experience.

  13. I will probably remember the prom dress design activity most vividly from this class. It was a clever way of combining creativity and a lesson al into one project.
Another memberable time would have to be the herp survey and the discover of that rather large snake under one of the locations.
All in all, this class has been rather enjoyable(:

  14. Wellll, some of my favorite moments have to be looking for snakes and going to the aquarium. I'll never forget that snake "glittering" on Brian haha. And I'll never forget getting my shorts wet when we were in the marsh at the aquarium. Oh, and modeling the paper/foil dress, that was very memorable.

  15. I would have to say that the best memories for me BY FAR would have to be all the funny little faces Mr. Dillman would make at the silly/outrageous things that would be said in class. HILARIOUS ! i can honestly say that Dillman will never get a class quite like ours. Also, going through the marsh at Pine Knoll Shores could have been the funnessssssttttttttt thing ive ever done for a class. AP Earth has broadened my whole outlook on this world whether the Dillmanator knows it or not. Thanks Mr. Dillman :)

  17. Lindsey say this:
All the crazy nights staying up with victor and shannon cramming for the intense six weeks tests. I guess it all paid off because in the end I set the curve. Not shannon, and not victor and by no surprise, not even tyler :) i love the silly memories of alexis and jerry laughing till they cry, and when you look around, absolutely no one knows what is going on except them! The whole class itself was fun, and i just want to say thanks Mr. D!!

  18. for the most part, the whole class in general was GREAT, almost everythign we did was fun and exciting. APES isn't your typical science class. we had fun and we learned sooo much. we interactivly learned not just read out of the text book. my most memorable moment is the class it's self. i'm going to miss it =[

AP Environmental Science, considering my lack of passion for the field, has surprsingly been one heck of a ride for me. The field trip to Pine Knoll aquarium is, without a doubt, the most memorable time with the class especially because we got to go behind the scenes and understand the more complex process of regulating the aquatic life of marine animals. The prom dress was also a smart and creative idea for our class to learn and have fun at the same time. Also, I wouldnt forget the herpetological survey because I was the record keeper for the most times that we went outside and also because although I have never touched a snake in my entire life, nor will I ever want to, my mouth came in contact with this gross, scary, little animal - thanks to Caroline's hand.

There's no doubt in my mind that this class will be missed by most, if not all, of the students :)

  20. i dont know.....but rofl at tyler. i definetly liked the herp survey. i would say my spot #6 is very productive for red bellies and ring necks and an occasional rat snake. #8 and #7 also. Picking up that fox snake? was an awesome exprience i was both excited and a lil scared. I admit i should have read the chapters more, but overall for preperation of the ap exam it was very good. i lked my class though very lively, never too boring either. i also became dueto this class a little bit more conscious of my surroundings, especially how animals in regions are affected. but i wonder why people don't like all the things like lizards and snakes and suff cuz they aren't that bad--it's rather facsinating. i would like to come back and help out with the herp survey and help with the making of the trails. but i kind of really wanted to get bitten by a snake ^_^. alot of the things are all memoriable....don't know...don't want tomake it long....but writing on blogs also serves as a reflectin on particular weeks.

  24. My most memorable moment of AP Earth Science was all of the guest speakers that came to talk with us and provided us with greater insight to the subjects that we were currently learning. Also, when Mr. Dillman ran after the snake at light speed, hahahahaha, wow, that was funny.
