A woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart. ~Hal Borland

To Summer.... On reading your quote I thought of fall at first, but at the end of the quote I thought that nature is beauty in plurality but it is truly a wonder in singularality
"Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it." ~Russell Baker I like the quote by Hal Borland because it helps me understand that small things can be important too.
"Man is not himself only... He is all that he sees; all that flows to him from a thousand sources... He is the land, the lift of its mountain lines, the reach of its valleys" ~Mary Austin
I really like Summer Drum's quote,it's basically appreciating the little thigs, even if that means a single tree compared to a forest. I just dont like the fact that they're burning??
"At its most successful, my "touch" looks into the heart of nature; most days I don't even get close. These things are all part of a transient process that I cannot understand unless my touch is also transient; only in this way can the cycle remain unbroken and the process be complete."
I like Gabriel Aquino's quote. So many people let beliefs and moral issues of the time cloud their judement to what is apparent and available to be absorbed through simple observation. To simply look and learn is enough to satisfy the basest of intellectual pursuits.
To Taylor Blackmon's comment, for some reason when I read that quote I liked it a lot, I find it unique how Mary Austin put that all together. . nature kind of makes you who you are.
In regards to Gabe Aquino's quote, we as a people have lived in ignorance and in simple terms, lived as luxourious as can be as Nature is wondering why the heck is she paying all the bills while trying to feed her babies. Derrick Anderson Period 4
I like Troy's quote because it really makes you think about how the world is connected, especially through nature. The more you think about it you can notice small things coming together to become even bigger. It's amazing how nature works.
I loved Gabe's quote! One of our faults as humans is that we sometimes form opinions and refuse to see the other options or the bigger picture. We need to spend more time teaching each other how to see the beauty of the world from many different standpoints rather than teaching each other that there's only one right answer to a problem. -Summer Drum APES 4th

In response to Summer's post: I never thought that reading a quote could be so visually stunning. The comparison between trees and flames was both brilliant and ironic.
To Troy, I really enjoy reading this quote. It helps me to realize that there is much more to appreciate than maybe a single strand of grass. To Alyssa's quote, Nature doesn't hurry, only when it wants to destroy something, or start over, then it can take something away in a matter of minutes.
“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
I have to say, Justin Davis's is definitely my favorite quote, bc it really does make sense, if you think about it. Yet, it isnt the first thing that always comes to mind when people think trees and grass.
@Alyssa Perez.. I like your quote because it tells us to be patient with nature to see its' overwhelming results. And patience is the key to everything in life. Great quote..

— Mahatma Gandhi In order for us to be able to change the world we must first be able to implement our own ideas and plans in our own lives. Just like in nature, when a species needs to change(adapt) they will slowly evolve into the change that they need, maybe not in their lifetime, but in their offspring or their offspring's offspring.
