ReplyDeleteMy largest effects on both the Carbon and Nitrogen cycle come from driving. I recently acquired my license and have been wanting to drive everywhere ever since, but both Carbon Dioxide and Nitric Oxide are released from the burning of fossil fuels-the gas I put in my car. (Maybe that’ll make me think twice about driving.) Most of the phosphorus I use comes from the plants I eat, as phosphorus is the limiting factor on plant growth. The sulfur I release into the atmosphere comes from sulfur-containing coal and oil that is burned to create the electricity that powers my home and the petroleum used do make gasoline, again, for my car. The water cycle is affected by my water usage every day. I use water to shower, to wash dishes, to drink, and so on and so forth.
For the Phophorous Cycle my grandma takes the tea bags that she has used to make tea and lets them dry out, then she puts the tea bags in her flower beds to better fertilize her plants. Second the Nitrogen Cycle my family has our trash taken to the dump which contains nitrogenous wastes, along with urban runoff. Third the Carbon Cycle, my family as well as almost 100% of all other families use fossil fuels to transport us and all of us breathe in the air and then releasing carbon dioxide. I know that sometimes we put things down the drain that we are not really suppose to and every time we do that, it is effecting the quality of the water resources we have for the Water Cycle. Last of all the Sulfur Cycle, oil is one of the fossil fuels that I believe my family uses alot of because oil is put into cars and roads which we use everyday and also it is put into alot of other things.
ReplyDeletePhosphorous Cycle- My family impact would be using fertilizer.
ReplyDeleteNitrogen Cycle- Burning wood and fossil fuels when we drive place to place.
Carbon Cycle- Cutting down trees for wood and paper usage.
Water Cycle- When we take shower it wastes water.
Sulfer Cycle- Burning coal when we cook on the grill.

Phosphorous Cycle Impact:
ReplyDeleteThe bug spray we use outdoors near our porch and around my mom's garden.
Nitrogen Cycle Impact:
Using our cars, and fireplace.
Carbon Cycle Impact:
When my dad builds, using things such as wood, etc. And I think this cycle is also impacted when family members that visits smokes cigarettes.
Water Cycle Impact:
Washing dishes, doing laundry, watering plants, brushing our teeth, cooking, etc.
Sulfer Cycle Impact:
Cook-outs, or Block-parties, and i think using the fireplace would impact this cycle also.
I think the cycle that my family and I impact the most would definately be the Water Cycle and Nitrogen Cycle, because of the things that we use everyday, while the others are cycles that we impact maybe every few days, or even only once in a while.

ReplyDeleteMy parents have been using this winter to make lots of changes to our home. This is causing us to effect each of these cycles. My mom has put down phosphorus rich fertilizer for the plants in the front yard. Our back and forth driving to Lowes have caused us to contribute the burning of gas and the constant use of oil for the cars to the nitrogen and sulfur cycles. Also, our front yard had a few trees which have since been cut down. The trees played a vital role in the carbon cycle. We also affect the water cycle in many ways. We use large amounts of water each day for showers, laundry, and cleaning. Something that I don't think is thought of a lot is the chemicals in cleaning products. The Scrubbing Bubbles used to clean the bathtub is going down the drain, into sewers, and then to who knows where (probably a place that isn't going to get rid of it). These are the ways my family affects each of these cycles.
Water Cycle would be when we take showers. We have no effect on the Phosphorus Cycle because we don't fertilize anything. We affect the Nitrogen Cycle by driving around a lot. We also affect the Carbon Cycle by driving around a lot. We affect the Sulfur Cycle by cooking on the grill.
ReplyDeletePhosphorus Cycle- family fertilizing plants
ReplyDeleteNitrogen Cycle- buring fossil fuels when driving/cooking
Water Cycle- Showers,Cooking, Drinking
Sulfer Cycle- Electricity
Carbon Cycle- Burning of fossil fuels
Nitrogen cycle- burning fossil feuls such as oil when we drive cars
ReplyDeletephosphorous cycle - when we eat food we convert it into usable energy.
carbon cycle - by driving day after day my car emmits harful CO2 into the atmoshphere.
water cycle - I take 3 showers a day so that wastes a lot of water and keeps it from progressing through the cycle.
Sulfur cycle - we buy products from factories that emmitt sulfur dioxide into the air causing acid rain.
-Nick Hall
For both the Phosphorous and Nitrogen cycles my family uses fertilizer my mom's garden in the spring. The same fertilizer runs off into the gutter, during the spring showers, which leads into the ocean. My family affects the Water cycle by the over usage of water used during the washing of dishes and taking showers. The carbon cycle is affected by my family and may others by driving our vechiles at an given point in time and anywhere. The Sulfur cycle kinda of ties into the Carbon cycle baecause the Sulfur cycle is responsiable for the making of the gas that powers our vechiles.
ReplyDeletePhosphorous: Planting gardens in the spring/ summertime.
ReplyDeleteNitrogen, Carbon, Sulfer: Driving everyday and having cookouts on holidays.
Water: Having water running while brushing our teeth and taking hour showers.
My family's impact on the phosphorous cycle would be using fertilizer to grow grass and stuff. Our impact on the nitrogen cycle would be driving everywhere and polluting the air. Our impact on the carbon cycle would be cutting down trees in our yard, and having land cleared out to build a house. Our impact on the water cycle is just taking long showers, and leaving water on when it doesn't need to be. Our impact on the sulfur cycle is using electricity for like everything that we do.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest effect is driving and burning wood. I like to have boom fires. When we do boom fires we release carbon dioxide in to the arm and which helps lead to global warming

I personally feel that i have the biggest impact on the water cycle. I feel like this because I am always wasting water. I take very long showers, brush my teeth while the water is running and when i pour myself a big glass of water, I often dont drink it all and just pour it down the drain.
ReplyDeleteWater cycle: My family uses water for our every day uses. There is exactly 8 people currently living on the same roof, and so I can see how much water usage I can use in just a short amount of time. Carbon Cycle: I from time to time use a lot of papers for my school work, and etc, which are gathered from trees through many ways such as deforestation. I also travel from midway park to swansboro almost everyday because I have taekwondo to which the air released by the cars that we use, can gather up thus effecting the carbon cycle. Nitrogen cycle: Well my family uses a lot of products that are made from factories which release harmful pollution to the environment thus disturbing the nitrogen cycle. Phosphorous cycle: My family throws out foods such as means, and such throughout the drainage, which contributes as waste that goes straight down to the sewage. And finally, Sulfur cycle: My family uses two cars, which are usually filled up almost the other day, which burns fossil fuels.
ReplyDeletePhosphorus cycle- Run off from fertilizers
ReplyDeleteNitrogen Cycle- Burining fossil fuels while driving
Water cycle- Use of water for drinking or bathing.
Sulfer cycle- The use of coal to make energy.
Carbon cycle- From driving and cutting trees to make paper

Phosphorous Cycle: Eating different plants that are edible to us and is grown in the ground (i.e. corn, carrots, peas, etc.)
ReplyDeleteNitrogen Cycle: Wasting trees for everyday uses and my family driving everywhere.
Carbon Cycle: SAME AS NITROGEN CYCLE
Water Cycle: Wasting water everyday to make my shower warm.
Sulfur Cycle: Coal and oil which is used to help in many different aspects of my house (plus car)
Sulfur- burning coal for the grill, oil for when my dad makes me mow the lawn...
ReplyDeleteCarbon- i breathe a lot so that's a lot of carbon dioxide in the air, not to mention using all of the paper i do in school
Water- i use water to shower... sometimes...
Nitrogen- burning fossil fuels to drive in my car
Phosphorous- my grandma uses fertilizer in her garden
I personally affect all cycles, The reason I feel this is, right now I am in the process of a move. The nitrogen cylce, and sulfur cycle is affected because my family has been driving back and forth between houses and lowes to pick out carpet and paint. Then once we get those supplies we drive back and forth to paint one room then the next day pull up carpets and such. We also affect the phosphorous cycle when we use fertilizers to help the grasses grow and start a new garden where the old owners had a rock bed and grow grass. The carbon cylce is affected because my dad decided to cut down lots of trees so that we could use all the land we own with our house. Also when we get home from these days at work, we take long showers and baths which uses up lots of water, we also use lots of water to help the grass grow.

For the phosphorous and sulfur cycle, I don't think my family has a big impact on them at all. However, people in general impact the phosphorous cycle by using large amounts of fertilizer and pesticides. For the sulfur cycle, people impact it from the industry like burning coal. My family's biggest impact on the carbon and nitrogen cycle are pretty much the same. We use energy to drive places and by using other fossil fuels. My family's biggest impact on the water cycle is by using too much water and not really thinking about how much we use.
ReplyDeletePhosphorous- When mixing water in potting soil for our flowers around our home, the plants absorb Phophorous
ReplyDeleteCarbon Cycle- Burning wood for our fire place in the winter time
Water Cycle- When we wash our cars, shower, clean, bathe etc.
Sulfur Cycle- Using a match to light candles
Nitrogen Cycle- Burning leaves in the fall after we rake the yard
Chaila.Y P3
Like most people the largest effects i believe me and my family impact is the nitrogen cycle. Mostly from driving. I used to have a boyfriend that lived in Havelock so i would make that drive quite frequently and overall we probably drive more than 300 miles a week which is super bad.
ReplyDeleteWe have a huge effect also on the Carbon cycle from using tons of paper being me and my mom are in school and use paper and books non stop in turn going back to cutting down trees. The only thing i think of that would impact the phosphorous cycle would be the animal waste in my yard because i have two dogs, we do the best we can to pick it up but I'm sure some goes into a runoff. As for the water cycle we use a ton, we drink tap, take showers almost everyday, cook with water pretty much every night and brush out teeth frequently. One way we impact the sulfur cycle would most likely be burning out fire place.
Sulfur- Coal and oil
ReplyDeleteCarbon- Using paper
Water- I use water to shower, to drink, to brush my teeth
Nitrogen- Burning fossil fuels in order to drive places
Phosphorous- Fertilizer for gardens

Phosphorus: my mom uses fertilizer in the spring when she plants things
ReplyDeleteNitrogen: Driving
Carbon: Driving
Water: I love taking really long showers, and we use a lot of water to cook and wash dishes and clothes.
Sulfur: Driving
I think my family has the biggest impact on the water cycle because we use so much water, but we also impact the carbon and sulfur cycles because we drive everywhere.
The im pact my family has on the:
ReplyDeletePhosphorous cycle would be the fertilizers and pesticides we use
Nitrogen cycle would be how much we drive our cars since everyone in my house drives
Water cycle would be through washing clothes dishes and taking showers
Sulfur would be the least one we impact but when we cook on the grill the coal we use to heat it
Latina Bailey
Water cycle by showering everyday.
ReplyDeleteNitrogen by driving my car.
Phosphorus by fertilizing our plants.
Carbon by burning in the fire place at my old house.
Sulfur by using electricity to cool our house.
my number one impact on the phosperous cycle would be the dog's waste in the back yard. we are very slack on cleaning it up often. the impact one the sulfer cycle would be the bonfires i like to have once a month.
ReplyDeletethe carbon cycle is impacted by everyone in my family driving everywhere.
and of course the water cycle is impacted by pretty much everything i do.this includes using the bathroom, showering, brushing my teeth, and staying hydrated for softball.
Phosphorus- My grandma uses fertilizers in her garden
ReplyDeleteNitrogen- When we rake the yard, we burn the leaves and other roughage which releases nitrogen into the atmosphere.
Carbon- When I drive places, my car releases carbon and other gases into the atmosphere.
Water- We water the garden which puts water into the soil
Sulfer- When we barbeque during the summer time, sulfer is released in the burning of the charcoal.
Carbon cycle: Driving.
ReplyDeletePhosphorus cycle: Eating fruits and vegetables.
Water cycle: Drinking it.
Nitrogen cycle: Using paper.
Sulfer cycle: Grilling.
I probably impact the water and carbon cycle the most because I use water and carbon products everyday.
My family mostly impacts the Nitrogen cycle. During the warmer seasons we plant our own vegetables and use fertilizers that washes the nitrogen off the soil.We should probably stop using fertilizers and start making natural fertilizers with eggshells and leaves. We also affect the carbon cycle because we travel everyday to the gym and its usually 20 minutes away.
ReplyDeletePhosphorus, i do not blieve that my family has an affect to this cycle because we do not have any plants around the house and we do not water plants outside.
ReplyDeleteCarbon cycle, we have a fire place and burn almost everyday when it is cold.
water, we use it in everyday activities such as washing hands, brushing teeth, bathing, and cooking.
Sulfur, my mother loves candles and so we use alot macthes to light them.
Nitrogen, we burn cut grass and leaves, along with fallen branches and twigs almost every week when we cut the yard.
Dylan H. P3
Phosphorous- My mom has a garden and she uses soil with fertilizers in it that contain phosphorus.
ReplyDeleteNitrogen- Burning fossil fuels from driving and flying.
Carbon- wasting paper
Water- taking long showers and leaving water running for unnecessarily
Sulfur- purchasing metal products
Phosphorus- i do not believe my family has an effect on this because we do not water any plants or anything outside.
ReplyDeleteNitrogen- my family amd i are always drving and burning gas and fossil fuels
Carbon- we have a burn pit and use it alot
Water- we use everyday washing clothes, taking long showers and leaving the water running
Sulfur- my stepmom loves candles so we use alot of macthes to light them
Dominique Heath 3rd
For the phosphorus cycle we use fertilizer for our flowers and plants that are in the front yard, we use the water cycle when we take showers and use tap water for everyday needs, the nitrogen cycle relates to us because 3 out of the 5 people in my family have cars and drive and we all drive somewhere every single day, the sulfur cycle relates to us because we use so much electricity in our house and the carbon cycle relates to us because we burn alot of things in our backyard that go into the air.
ReplyDeletephosphorus- my moms tomatoe garden in whish she uses fertilizers like miracle grow.
ReplyDeletenitrogen - id have to say when my father drives me my brother and sister to sports events such as football practices.
carbon- id have to say by all the paper we use and how we dispose of it.
water- as much as anyone we impact it alot by taking long showers and not turning off the water while we brush our teeth.
sulfur- when we use coal we rarely cook on the grill but when we do thats what we use.
The largest effect me and my family have on the cycles is from driving. We drive to Fayetteville every so often to see my Aunt, we've driven to Michigan multiple times in the past years to see my grandparents, and me and my dad drive every day Mon-Fri to school and work. That is a lot of driving!! This affects the carbon and nitrogen cycle due to the burning of fossil fuels. Not to meantion, we're just one family... thousands of families doing that is kind of crazy to think about.
ReplyDelete-Vicki Smith, 3rd Period
... I reread the assignment and realized it said for each of the cycles. I did carbon and nitrogen, here are the rest:
ReplyDeleteFor phosphorus, we also have a garden and recently started a new one. We have a huge bag of fertilizer sitting in the yard.
For water, we're pretty good on not leaving the faucet running while we brush our teeth. As for showers, we all take pretty short showers. But we do have a dish washer we use quite often that use a lot of water.
For sulfur, as others said, we grill. We just had grilled chicken the other day.
-Vicki Smith (again) 3rd Period
my parents use the nitrogen cycle for vehicles and the water cycle when we take showers
ReplyDeletehunter alphin
we use phosphorus for the garden.
ReplyDeletefor water we use the shower and the washing machine and the dishwasher pretty much everyday.
for carbon we have a firepit and a fireplace we light in the winter
for sulpher we grill alot and my mom likes to light candles with matchs
