One more Six Weeks Left.... Its crazy to think about. I feel like we just began our crazy journey as APES together. This week we are discussing Pests but also keeping in mind the negative effects that insecticides have on the environment. ReplyDeleteThere are new plant oils that were normally used as spices to add flavor. These oils can use repel or kill insects. However, the downfall with the eco friendly insecticides is that they dont last long and have to be resprayed every few hours.

Instead of actual pesticides, you can use other organisms to kill pests. For instance, you can put bird feeders in your yard which attracts birds, which in turn eats the bugs. Also,benefical bugs like lady bugs, praying mantises, and spiders can eat pests while leaving gardens intact.
