"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." -John Muir
Simple quote to start off with... Credited to John Muir, who is famously known to be a key person in shaping the American ideals about their relationship with nature.
In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment. -Charles Darwin
comment: I like Tyler's quote because it shows how much is in nature and how you will always get more than you think. A simple hike can turn into an adventure
A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease. John Muir
Comment: I like Catalinas post because it's true; nature doesnt just create something for no reason. Even if we cant see it there was a reason for it; nature takes care of itself and its a wonderful thing to see.
Comment: I like what Crystal quote said, it is so true because if we don't cut down the trees they will "reward" us in a way by giving us shade and other things such as life living in it.
I like pgscgirl1's quote, because it is so true. Nothing in nature is rushed, yet everything falls into place. It all runs smoothly and flows together, like clockwork. It's cool.
Comment: I like Russel's quote because its humorous, catchy and some people can probably relate to it...like...when we finally updated our building for the weather...it gets ten times stronger...etc
Comment: I like Crystal's quote because nature gives so much for us to enjoy as long as we protect it. There's so much to explore in nature and it always finds a way to surprise us.

i like kaitlin hannahs qoute about the water becuase it is very true. nobody seems to notice how blessed we are to have treated water at our fingertips 24/7 until the day comes where we are limited or dont have any water. we only seem to realize and be thankful for how blessed we are after the luxuary has been taken away.

Oh Beautiful for smoggy skies, insecticided grain, For strip-mined mountain's majesty above the asphalt plain. America, America, man sheds his waste on thee, And hides the pines with billboard signs, from sea to oily sea. ~George Carlin
@Bryan I like this quote because it states a common them seen in Biology and Earth Science which is that you must adapt to survive and those who adapt best become the strongest and will outlast the other weaker creatures.
AJ wrote "…only about 4 percent of the United States is designated wilderness, and half of this is in Alaska."
-David Brower, Let the Mountains Talk, Let the Rivers Run
This quote really shows how little natural reserves are left for Americas wildlife and how unimportant nature really is to people and this is completely abhorrent to me.
