Scholars,
One more Six Weeks Left.... Its crazy to think about. I feel like we just began our crazy journey as APES together. This week we are discussing Pests but also keeping in mind the negative effects that insecticides have on the environment. . Can you find some eco-friendly pesticides and post information about it. (Be sure to site your source)

I hope your break was full of food and rest. Last week we discussed Human Health risks. For this week's Post I would like you to choose a Biological Human Health Hazards (Pathogen), such as a viral or bacterial disease and post the symptoms, who is most affected, how it is contracted, and how to fight the hazard.

This week we are talking about Renewable Energy. Find an ad online that is promoting an automobile comapany's "new" fuel source car and post the weblink here.
Have a relaxing break... eat lots of that fav. Amino Acid Tryptophan and GET SLEEPY!

This week's topic is global climate change. The current scientific view point is that our climate is slowly warming. Prior to this current belief, there were scholars that thought we were headed for an ice age. Even movies such as The Day After Tomorrow depict this. This week we will reinforce Science's Current Perspective but for this week's post I want you to find alternate opinions on this subject. Post the link where you found your info.

Hopefully you enjoyed your first experiences in AP Env. Science. Looks like most of you are gettin the hang of this whole Blogging thing. This week's topic is Energy Resources. Your Challenge this week is to research and find online one new innovative product on the market now or soon to be on the market. This product's main focus must be on energy efficiency. APES will allow you to see first hand through labs and projects how real scientists research and make huge positive impacts on local and global environments. This class will also give you a glimpse at different careers in the field of Environmental Science and perhaps the opportunity to pursue one.

Only a few more precious weeks as APES... How Does it Feel? This week we are continuing or topic of Biodiversity and specifically on species. For this weeks special task Post a Picture of your Favorite Endangered or Threatened Animal (Organism) and Include the following information:
1. Common name
2. Scientific name (use italics or underline, capitalize the genus name (ex. Ursus maritimus or Ursus maritimus)
3. Status: Endangered, threatened, extinct, etc
4. Estimated population (and population trend…increasing, decreasing, stable, uncertain)
5. Geographic range/habitat
6. Threats (ex. reasons for endangerment)
7. Conservation actions
